LAKE FOREST, California—October 18, 2006—Vue Technology, the leading provider of item level RFID solutions, today unveiled the third generation of its TrueVUETM RFID Platform. Vue’s latest technology breakthroughs build upon its proven success in enabling retailers to increase same store sales and improve accuracy of inventory data and replenishment capabilities while increasing employee productivity and customer satisfaction. The new TrueVUETM RFID Platform is the only RFID infrastructure that enables retailers to easily initiate any item level deployment, from dock doors and portals to mobile and smart shelving solutions - achieving inventory tracking accuracy of 99+ percent.
This latest breakthrough from Vue Technology further builds upon the company’s patented RF networking technology that already dramatically reduces conventional infrastructure costs by allowing standard RFID readers to network across thousands of antennas. Building upon extensive in-store experience with leading retailers, Vue Technology is now taking its item level RFID solutions to the next level with new developments that greatly enhance the ROI for item level RFID. Several retail leaders have recently selected Vue’s new technology to pilot item level initiatives in media & entertainment, apparel and pharmaceuticals.
“Our position as the innovative technology leader in item-level RFID has been significantly extended with this release,” said Tim von Kaenel, SVP, Product Management & Business Development. “With this generation of technology, we have successfully achieved the key goals that we set out for driving down infrastructure costs by an order-of-magnitude, increasing the areas that can benefit from item-level visibility, and creating the most flexible system for retailers to address the over $220 billion item level inventory visibility problem.”
Vue Technology’s newest development is a series of item level specific UHF antenna arrays or ‘smart surfaces’ designed specifically to track the quantity and location of individual products down to the item level. Vue’s family of network addressable RF antenna arrays, called VUEpointsTM, are designed to provide 99+% accuracy at the item level across a wide variety of product categories including apparel and footwear, media & entertainment and pharmaceutical products. VUEpointsTM can be adapted to any surface from metal shelving in front and backrooms, to wall and table top mounted surfaces. When used with Vue’s RF Networking switch and router devices, standard third party RFID readers, can read across thousands of ‘smart surfaces’- shattering the current limitation of four antennas per reader.
Vue Technology is also unveiling its latest suite of RF Networking and Edge Management software which provides ‘out-of-the-box’ software functionality to support and manage RFID devices and provide store execution functionality across a wide range of RFID implementations utilizing RFID devices ranging from dock doors, portals, handheld and mobile readers to RFID printers and smart shelf applications.
The TrueVUETM software suite includes:
- TrueVUETM Enterprise Manager: Centralized network management application providing powerful software functionality that manages RFID devices, monitors heath and welfare of deployed devices and provides enterprise visibility across multiple store deployments;
- TrueVUETM Site Manager: Store/site version of networking application responsible for managing the RFID network and devices, data management and storage;
- TrueVUETM Commissioning: EPC commissioning software that automates the management of EPCs, offering a sophisticated EPC number management system and RFID data repository;
- TrueVUETM Essentials: Workflow-based application and reporting suite designed for use at individual locations within the supply chain;
- TrueVUETM Exchange: Enables access to data and functionality through web services, ALE and JMS;
“The coming year holds great potential for Vue Technology, as retailers move from item-level pilots to wider scale deployments. We are uniquely positioned to enable those companies achieve their objectives.” Said Robert Locke, CEO of Vue Technology.
